After getting shutdown in the second half of the Big East Championship, Syracuse came flying out of the gate to open the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night, hammering No. 13-seed Montana 81-34.

Brandon Triche led the way with 20 points, four assists and four steals, followed by 13 points from C.J. Fair.

With the game outcome not in doubt, DeJuan Coleman saw 15 minutes of action and tallied a dozen points and six boards.

The Grizzlies had four players with five points, and none in double digits.

'Cuse, the East Region's fourth-seed, will play the 12th-seeded California on Saturday after the Golden Bears upset UNLV.
