Police in Syracuse, New York are identifying the victim of a weekend stabbing as 17-year old Charles Pitts, Jr.

Pitts, a high school senior and football player, was stabbed while people were leaving a party in the recreation room of an apartment building located at 550 South Clinton Street in Syracuse.  More details are expected to be released but it appears that Pitts was stabbed in the Murbro parking lot outside of the building.

He was brought to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 1:30am on October 27, 2013.

Police say they are still investigating, as there were several fights that broke out late Saturday night and early Sunday morning following the party.
