James Southerland returned to the lineup Sunday to a standing ovation at the Carrier Dome to help the ninth-ranked Syracuse Orange top St. Johnson 77-58.

Southerland, who missed the previous six games due to an academic suspension, scored 13 points in 26 minutes of action.

C.J. Fair and Michael Carter Williams each poured in 17 - Fair also grabbed eight boards and Carter Williams had nine assists. Brandon Triche scored 16.

Jakarr Sampson had a game high 21 points for the Red Storm, who were playing without head coach Steve Lavin due to the death of his father. D'Angelo Harrison added 13.

The win moves 'Cuse to 20-3 overall, 8-2 in the Big East and marks 37 straight wins at the Carrier Dome - the longest home winning streak in the nation.
