If you’re a fan of Disney baddies like cigar-smoking Bill Sykes from Oliver & Company (and really, who isn’t a fan of Bill Sykes from Oliver & Company?), this news is relevant to your tobacco-stained interests: The Walt Disney Company has banned all depictions of smoking from all of its films from all of its child-oriented labels (including Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm) rated G through PG-13. Via a press release:

Talking dogs and cats have been a staple of animation since the medium’s earliest days, but The Secret Life of Pets trailer actually presents a fairly fresh take on this trope. The talking animals here are ordinary house pets, alone all day while their humans are at work, and we get to see how they pass the time.

Like all of Pixar’s teaser trailers, the first preview for The Good Dinosaur is all about mood, emphasizing a distinct feeling over characters and plot. But as the title implies, it’s really all about dinosaurs. Colorful, adorable dinosaurs who, thanks to director Peter Sohn and the Pixar braintrust, aren’t wiped out by an apocalyptic asteroid 66 million years ago and live on to have all kinds of adventures. Take that, science!

It was inevitable: Disney is making a live action Winnie the Pooh movie because of course Disney would make a live action Winnie the Pooh movie. The studio’s tactic of bringing their animated properties into the live action realm has already paid off with Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent and Cinderella, so why not pay another visit to the Hundred Acre Wood and let a live action Christopher Robin hang out with a CGI Piglet?

We heard rumors a while back that Captain Marvel would make her big screen debut in Avengers 2 before getting her own solo film in a few years, but then heard this was no longer the case. Now, according to a source who has been right about this kind of stuff before, Marvel has secretly cast their Carol Danvers and has plans to introduce her very soon.

Adam Sandler’s live-action comedies have been underperforming lately (so much so that he recently signed a deal to make his next movies for Netflix), but 2012’s Hotel Transylvania was one of Sandler's best performing films in years. Because of that success, a new sequel is on the way with the whole “Drac Pack” returning for a spooky adventure.

With their new Cinderella just days away, Disney is continuing its streak of turning its animated classics into live-action features with the news, via the Wall Street Journal, that Dumbo is ready to make the transition from animated elephant to ... well, still-animated elephant surrounded by live-action actors. If that idea doesn’t get your ears flapping, maybe this will: the Journal says Tim Burton will be the man who’ll direct the new Dumbo.

It's been almost two years since our last Pixar movie (Monsters University in 2013), but that's thankfully about to change this summer with the release of Inside Out. From Up director Pete Docter, Inside Out is also only the second original Pixar film since 2009, which makes its arrival extra exciting. LEGO recreations of trailers and scenes from films are often pretty fun to watch, though they’re not always of the best quality, as fans rush to complete and reveal their projects before someone else beats them to the punch. That’s not the case with Morgan Spence, a 15-year-old kid from Scotland whose LEGO recreations of famous movie scenes are really top notch. His latest project recreates the famous funeral scene from Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel—not the typical film you’d expect to see LEGO form, but once you do, you’ll be quite charmed.
