A Deposit woman is accused of holding up a bank in Oneonta shortly at 12:10 p.m. April 10.

Police in Oneonta are investigating the robbery of the NBT Bank on Wall Street.

A Utica man has been indicted on two counts of bank robbery.

A suspect in a bank robbery in Syracuse is now in custody after police located him in Utica, New York.

UPDATE: 09/26/2014 1411 Although officially still on lockdown, New Hartford schools will dismiss on schedule, with strict security measures in place.  All students will exit from one location in their respective buildings.  After school activities and after school programs, in New Hartford, Utica, and New York Mills are cancelled.

The Citizens Bank location on Genesee Street in Utica was held up late Friday afternoon.

According to Rome Police, three black males walked into the credit union at around 12:30 p.m., two of which had handguns. One suspect jumped over the counter and took money while the two with guns kept customers at bay. The amount of money taken is not yet known, but the three men then left the area in a charcoal colored four-door sedan with out of state plates that could be a Pontiac Grand Am...

In response to the rise in bank robberies, including incidents at Adirondack Bank last week and KeyBank yesterday, State Senator Joe Griffo says he wants to increase penalties for the crime.
