A suicide attack is being blamed for the deaths and mayhem in Kabul. The New York Times is reporting at least sixteen people were killed. NBC News says there are at least a dozen deaths, including children.

An 18-year-old Australian woman was attached to a suspected explosive device by an intruder with an intent to detonate it in a possible extortion attempt.

The bomb squad, cooperating with British military personnel, spent over 10 hours working with the device.
