A group of 4th graders in New Hampshire took a field trip to the state legislature because they wanted to make the red-tailed hawk the state raptor (bird of prey). What was expected to be a fun-filled trip that would allow kids to learn how government works turned into an absolute nightmare!
Robert Downey Jr., presenting a bionic Iron Man arm to an exceedingly well-dressed 7-year-old fan named Alex, who was born with a partially developed right arm. The arm wasn’t built by Tony Stark, but rather by a college student named Albert Manero who makes low-cost 3D-printed bionic limbs for children. But Downey received the honor and pleasure of presenting him with his new arm, and comparing it to one of his own Iron Man suits.
Some in New York are calling for passage of the "Common Core Parental Refusal Act," legislation aimed at requiring school districts to notify parents and guardians that they may have their children "opt out" of Common Core testing in grade 3 through 8.
