Depressed Fathers Can Cause Behavioral Issues in Kids — Health Check
A study of 20,000 US families found kids with fathers suffering from depression are more likely to have emotional and behavioral problems than other children.
Michael Weitzman at the New York University School of Medicine, who authored the study, said these findings are especially important at a time when unemployment is high and some military dads are returning from Afghanistan and Iraq with emotional wounds.
What Are the Most Depressed Countries in the World?
According to a multi-national survey of over 9,000 adults by the World Health Organization, France and the United States are the two most mentally depressed countries in the world.
Twenty-one percent of French citizens have had a major depressive episode, followed by the United States, at 19.2 percent. Belgium, New Zealand and The Netherlands are also among world’s most depressed nations, by this metric.
