COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The man accused of killing nine people attending Bible study at a historic black church in Charleston has been indicted on three new charges of attempted murder.
In an emotionally charged courtroom in North Charleston, South Carolina, relatives of the tragic church massacre on Wednesday spoke to the accused shooter, Dylann Roof, at his first court appearance on Friday. They took the chance to address him directly, with many offering prayers and forgiveness, despite their obvious grief.
