It appears that the monthly jobs report from the Labor Department that's due out Friday (November 2nd) will be delayed because of Hurricane Sandy. The closely watched report on the unemployment rate and number of jobs created in the previous month will be the last piece of economic news to come before the Presidential election on Tuesday the 6th.
Although Hurricane Sandy has transitioned to a post-tropical cyclone, it's still expected to produce strong winds. Central New York is under a wind advisory until 5 this afternoon.
Our area will see some rain but nothing like they've had in New York City and New Jersey. The biggest concern is the winds at 25 miles an hour with gusts up to 40 mph. Higher elevations could see stronger conditions which could result in downed trees and power lines.
