Joshua Bell

An experiment was conducted by The Washington Post where world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell played in a train station in Washington, D.C. to see how people would respond to musical beauty, if it were presented in a non-traditional context.

This is an old story about a study done by the Washington Post from 2007.  It's a great example of how we as Americans, and maybe even humans, respond to people we feel might be less fortunate.  It's a real look into human nature and worth revisiting...
