Welcome back David Wright! Apparently everyone in the Mets' lineup Monday night was happy to have him back, and celebrated his return by going deep.

It's been more than four months since David Wright pulled a hamstring and headed to the disabled list, leaving the Mets without their biggest offensive force, presumably, for 4-6 weeks. Roughly three months ago, Wright learned of his spinal stenosis condition and doubt arose about whether he'd ever be able to return to baseball.

Logan Verrett (1-0) was impressive in his first ever MLB start, working eight innings and giving up just one run to help the Mets sweep the Rockies 5-1 Sunday in Colorado.

Yoenesis Cespedes went off on Friday night in Colorado.

The Mets' Kelly Johnson had three extra base hits and three RBI's, Curtis Granderson had a homer and drove in three and Juan Lagares added a pinch-hit, three-run blast in the eighth to cap a four-game sweep of the Rockies, 12-3 at Citi Field Thursday afternoon.

Jacob deGrom (11-6) struck out ten Rockies and allowed just two hits and four walks over seven-shutout innings to earn his eleventh win as the Mets beat Colorado 3-0 Wednesday night at Citi Field.

The New York Mets were unable to string together another late inning rally to keep their winning streak alive, going hitless in the final four innings in a 5-4 loss in Tampa Saturday night.
