SEATTLE (AP) — A small but growing number of parents in Seattle are bucking a trend when it comes to raising their kids: Rather than move to suburbs as their parents once did, many are opting to stay in or near downtown.
Some in New York are calling for passage of the "Common Core Parental Refusal Act," legislation aimed at requiring school districts to notify parents and guardians that they may have their children "opt out" of Common Core testing in grade 3 through 8.
