Highway construction crews will hold off on any non-essential lane closures this holiday weekend to ease traffic during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
Work has been completed on a $2.3 million project to rehabilitate and improve a busy stretch of interstate highway between New York state's Capital Region and the Southern Tier.
The Vermont Agency of Transportation is warning motorists that Interstate 89 between Middlesex and Montpelier is going to be closed at night one direction at a time so construction crews can set the steel for a new bridge over the interstate.
