It was the final home game from the season that really wasn't. COVID-19 restrictions constricted the Comets in their quest to bring fans back into the arena. Still, Utica found a way to survive and play every game to its fullest.

The dust is just settling on the fact that the Utica Comets are about to welcome a new team affiliate into the Adirondack Bank Center in the New Jersey Devils. Obviously, there's a great deal of history there because of the 80s and 90s and most people are very excited. However, there is some reflection required and I suspect hockey fans will be feeling it as this odd COVID-19 season comes to a close.
Utica Comets President Robert Esche confirmed on Wednesday that the New Jersey Devils American Hockey League team is moving to Utica for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
The Vancouver Canucks have made it official. They will end their partnership with the Utica Comets at the end of this season and will be moving their American Hockey League franchise to Abbotsford, British Columbia.
