Teen Charged With Assault After Jail Fight

Oriskany, NY (WIBX) -  A teenager being held on drugs charges is in more trouble following a fight at the Oneida County Jail.

The sheriff's office say 17-year-old Akeem Caye was involved in an altercation inside the correctional facility and was seen hitting another teenaged inmate and kicking him in the jaw.

The victim, 17-year-old Kody Wolak, was not seriously injured, officials said.

The sheriff's office says at this point, neither is talking about what sparked the fight.

Caye now faces an additional felony charge of assault.
