Teen Killed in Crash Near Bethpage State Parkway

A teenager from Bethpage was killed just before noon today while driving on the Southern State Parkway.

19-Year old Monisha Jacob apparently lost control of her car while slowing for traffic in the westbound lane of the Southern State, close to the Bethpage State Parkway.

In a written release New York State Police say she drove off the roadway, hitting a tree along the right shoulder

She was pronounced dead at the scene.  Troopers say their investigation is continuing.
