Authorities say 18-year-old Travis Kipp and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Thursday. Both suspects live in Vestal. They have been charged with third-degree arson, a felony.

Vestal police and firefighters were called to the high school around 7:30 Wednesday night. A large storage garage behind the school was fully engulfed in flames when officers arrived at the scene.

Broome County fire investigators and the Vestal School District resource officer also responded to the blaze.

Police say investigators identified the two suspects who are accused of setting the fire. Further damage had been done to a nearby ball field complex.

The suspects were arraigned in Vestal town court and sent to Broome County Jail.

The case will be heard by a grand jury. Investigators say the more charges are possible.
