(WIBX) - A new study says ten percent of adult Americans consider themselves to be in recovery from drug or alcohol abuse problems.

The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, also known as "OASAS," says the report indicates that there are 23.5 million Americans struggling with addiction of one form or another.

The group says that the report should give those in recovery relief knowing that they are not alone, and may open expanded opportunities for recovery.
