The current owner of Remington Arms are 'extremely happy' with the Ilion plant, according to Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney who met this week company officials, including the plant manager and the company vice general council.

However, Remington is part of the Freedom Group, which is for sale by the Cerberus Capital Management, Tenney said, expressing hope that any new ownership would continue their investment in Herkimer County.

''The current ownership is extremely happen with Ilion, their productivity. They are not very happy with Andrew Cuomo'', Tenney said, adding that company officials say they didn't even get a phone call before this was ''forced through the legislature.''

The Republican assemblywoman says their conversations also involved how the gun control debate is unfolding elsewhere...'In Connecticut and Maryland they're holding public meetings and talking about real solutions,'' she said.
