Questioning the motives of Republican Congressman Richard Hanna's recent comments about the Benghazi investigation, and that it may have been designed to target Hillary Clinton, New York State Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney thinks it may be time for Hanna to change parties.

Tenney, who unsuccessfully challenged Hanna for his 22nd district congressional seat in 2014, suggested Hanna's comments were aimed at buying favor with Democrats, positioning himself for an appointment or committee selection in a Hillary Clinton administration.

Earlier this week on WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning, Hanna said:  “This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton.

“Sometimes the biggest sin you can commit is to tell the truth,” he said in reference to House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) who recently slipped up during an interview and implied his committee was going after Clinton.

''Why would he say that?" Tenney asked.

Asked if she planned a repeat challenge of Hanna for the 22nd District seat in New York, Tenney said running for congress is extremely costly and wouldn't vie for the seat again unless she saw 'a clear path to victory.'
