Local Verizon workers could be back on the job soon.

Verizon and IBEW/CWA have reached a tentative contract agreement to end a six-week long strike.

Union officials say they'll be sharing the details of the contract with their members for approval in the days ahead.

They say the contract will keep Verizon jobs in the United States.

About 39,000 Verizon employees in the Northeast have been working without a contract since last August.
