Saranac's 1888 Tavern Now Open for Happy Hour

For those of you Saranac fanatics who have always wondered when the 1888 Tavern will be open to the public for some after-work drinks there is finally an answer and it is "Now!" The tap house above the brewery shop at 830 Varick Street is now open on select days as a fully functioning bar.

The 1888 Tavern has been a staple at the F.X. Matt Brewing Company for several years, but has only been used for special events and post-brewery tour samplings. Now that is all changing. The popular tap room is now open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from Noon - 8 p.m. It will serve most Saranac beer products and will also offer an alternative for people who don't like beer, their new line of hard sodas including Orange Creme, Black Cherry, and Root Beer.
