Why I doubt the Heat are interested in Melo

So I was confused about this report from ESPN.com about the Miami Heat's purported interest in the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony, whose due to make over $23 million next season, hasn't decided yet if he'll take the option for next season and stay in New York. He has until June 23 to decided whether he's staying or going.

I think this 'leak' is an underhanded attempt by Miami to get into the head of Phil Jackson, and possibly trap the Knicks into giving 'Melo a max contract to keep him in New York, thus restricting the team's ability sign other free agents.
