Whenever we talk about Governor Andrew Cuomo coming to the area, we often mention that he only comes when he's able to deliver cotton candy to the area.  By cotton candy, we mean economic development like recent money awarded to the city of Rome for downtown development, investment into the Utica Memorial Auditorium and an upcoming announcement expected to invest in the downtown hospital project in Utica.

Well, the newly remodeled Aud, which is now known as the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, is ready for action with Friday night's Utica Pioneers hockey game and concessions will literally offer cotton candy.

According to food and beverage director Jeff Stone, "People have been asking for cotton candy, so we've delivered."  One of the new offerings at the Aud starting on Friday will be a new stand called, Sweet Tooth Ice Cream and Candy.  The remodel also features, luxury suites, a brand new restroom suite for ladies and a newly improved sound system.  Some of the new features, like a new attached restaurant located near the Utica College team room will open in early 2018.

The Utica Pioneers open men's hockey team opens at home on Friday at 7 p.m. against Fredonia.  Oh, and the Governor is expected to deliver more cotton candy in regards to the hospital sometime next week.
