The Safest Website is…Twitter

The safest website online is Twitter.

That is according to the newly released Honor Roll Audit from the Online Trust Alliance.

The study of approximately eight hundred companies showed that fewer than a third made the honor roll.

Twitter received top honors for the second year in a row because, according to the group, for demonstrating “…a consistent commitment to collaboration and data sharing including participation in multiple working groups, the standards community and industry associations.”  Card retailer American Greetings came in second.

The reason for the most failures, according to the study, was inadequate domain and brand protection.
