A name very familiar to local baseball fans will be returning this summer.  The Utica Blue Sox are back

Team spokesman Peter Faughnan says the Blue Sox, formerly the Utica Brewers, will compete in their fourth season in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League this year.

Faughnan says the PGCBL is the currently ranked number eight for summer collegiate baseball throughout the United States.

The Blue Sox will play a 49-game schedule from June through July, with 25 homes games. They'll open the season at Donovan Stadium on Friday, June 3rd against Elmira.

The complete schedule can be found on the Blue Sox website.

The Utica Blue Sox last played in the NY-Penn League from 1977 to 2001.
