If you have driven under the Burrstone Road bridge along the arterial at any point in the last two decades, you would have seen a good amount of graffiti. That is no longer the case. The Utica Comets have teamed up with the City of Utica to clean that area up and welcome people to the Home of the AHL team about to begin it's second year.

Here Is A Video Demonstrating What The Comets And The City Did

The new Comets mural looks amazing and it really is a sign that the Comets are here to stay and there is progress coming to Utica.

So how exactly did the idea come about to do something like this? Mark Caswell is the Director of Communications with the Comets and he says,

Gene Allen with the City of Utica, and Jordan Heath with United Way's Graffiti Busters approach us with this idea and we jumped on it. It's great to be able to help clean up Utica and help display Comets pride even more. Thanks to those that made this a reality.

So now we know who to thank for this fantastic project. The next time you're driving down the arterial in the southbound lane, remember to check out the incredible artwork!
