The Utica Police Department Is Not Yet Saying That They Are On Google+

The City of Utica Police Department is not officially saying that they are on Google+, but there is a Google plus site live for the force.

Official word from the UPD is expected today.  The force took down its tremendously popular Facebook page after critics took the site to task for portraying a negative view of the city because of questionable comments posted by visitors to the page.

If you have not heard of Google+ you will soon.  It may be that the Utica Police Department's simple act of moving to the portal will increase the popularity of Google+.
