Thefts From Vehicles On The Rise In Utica
Utica Police say they've seen a recent increase in vehicle larcenies.
18 larcenies from motor vehicles have been reported in the city since August 1st.
Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and not to leave anything valuable in plain sight.
They say vehicles that are locked with no visible property discourage would-be criminals.
The larcenies have taken place in the following areas
Claremont Terrace
1800 block of Blandina Street
400 block of Catherine Street
Sunnyside Drive
Cedarbrook Crescent
400 block of Oakdale Avenue
1100 block of Miller Street
800 block of Charlotte Street
200 block of Genesee Street
1400 block of Genesee Street
1600 block of Genesee Street
1100 block of Taylor Avenue
300 block of South Street
Rutger Park
1100 block of Churchill Avenue
1000 block of Erie Street
1200 block of Lincoln Avenue.
The New Hartford and New York Mills Police Departments have also reported numerous thefts from motor vehicles.
