Thousands Attend Funeral for Slain Sheriff’s Deputy [GALLERY]
Utica, NY (WIBX) – The funeral service for fallen hero Kurt Wyman was held earlier today, at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Thousands of Law Enforcement personnel, friends, family and elected officials all attending the ceremony that paid tribute to the life of the fallen Oneida County Sheriff Deputy.
The ceremony began with a heartfelt flute solo, performed by Wyman’s mother, Jeanette Wyman, the song, “It Is Well With My Soul”.
The first speaker, Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol told those gathered about Kurt’s accomplishments within the department.
Wyman was shot and killed during a domestic dispute that happened last week in the Hamlet of Knoxboro. As a Marine, Wyman served one year in Iraq, he is expected to be buried at Arlington National Cemetary in Virginia.
