Utica, NY (WIBX) - Over 10,000  Christmas gifts have been given to children in Oneida and Herkimer counties thanks to two organizations.

Father Stephen Enea of the Cathedral of the Theotokos of Great Grace and New York State Troopers delivered over 4,200 gifts to children in Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency Head Start Center and the rest went to the ARC and select individual families.

Father Enea says he didn't anticipate for how large the program would be this year.

"We do a lot for the community, but the Christmas project is the largest," he said.

There were 21 partners in the gift collection this year, including the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department, Dollar Tree, Mohawk Valley Federal Credit Union and Symeon's.
