Utica, NY (WIBX) - Three people face charges after police raided four houses in the City of Utica.

Yesterday, officers from the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, Special Operations and Response Team, and Utica Police Department performed searches of three houses on Shaw Street and one house on Howard Avenue.

Officials say they seized more than $10,000 worth of heroin and more than $4,000 in cash. Dog Control was also called to Shaw Street to tranquilize a Rottweiler allegedly guarding the heroin.

Police arrested Carlos Silvagnoli, 39, and Rachel Aviles, 38, both of 914 Shaw Street, charging them both with one of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Also arrested during the Howard Avenue raid was parolee, Aaron Ware, 34, from the Bronx. He is on parole for a criminal posession of a controlled substance arrest in New York City. Ware is charged with absconding from parole, and will be returned to state prison.
