The Utica Department of Public Works will begin demolishing three dilapidated structures this week.

Mayor Robert Palmieri says starting on Wednesday, crews will be taking down buildings located at 702 and 709 Court Street.

The DPW will then demolish the remains of 1129 Kossuth Avenue, the site of a fire this past December.

Palmieri says weather conditions permitting, DPW teams will start their work at 7:00 in the morning daily and continue until all three buildings have been torn down.

He says even with the city's severe budget problems, the fight to restore and maintain Utica's quality of life goes on.
