Verona, NY (WIBX) - Tiger Woods and KJ Choi are among the twelve golfers participating in the fifth annual Notah Begay III Foundation Championship at Turning Stone's Atunyote Golf Club.

The August 29th tournament features a different twist this year, with an East versus West format. Though team pairings have yet to be announced, those attending are ensured of seeing their favorite players on the course.

Woods leads the West team, featuring players such as LPGA player Lexi Thompson and recent tour winner, Rickie Fowler. Choi leads the East team, with players including major champion Y.E. Yang and Danny Lee.

Begay says the NB3 Challenge allows the golfers to play without any pressure.

"We make it really, really easy on the players," Begay III said. "There's no Pro Am, there's one dinner function and everybody shows up and plays golf. It's pretty painless."

Oneida Nation Representative Ray Halbritter says the tournament, which raises awareness against obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in Native American youth, is a great event for Begay's foundation, but also for the local area.

"Every year it's done really well," Halbritter said. "Notah's done really well with it, we've done very well with it, and we always think about trying to keep the cost down, so the maximum benefit can go to those we're trying to help. But, there's no question that bringing in this level of golf and in this field is just a major attraction."

Tickets for the NB3 tournament are on sale for $50, but children under 16 can get in free if their tickets are requested at the time of purchase. Active military are also given a 50 percent discount on tickets, with valid ID.
