After ten years at the helm, Tim Reed is stepping down as President of the Utica Boilermaker Road Race.

The 63-year old Reed made the announcement today at the Boilermaker wrap-up news conference at the Radisson Hotel.

Reed says he made the decision about two months ago that the 40th Boilermaker would be his last.  He says if he had to choose a Boilermaker to be his last, this would be the one.  Reed calls it one of the best Boilermakers in the race's history.

Reed says he'll be involved in the search to pick his successor.

Tim's brother Earle Reed founded the Boilermaker in 1978.
