Today Is Primary Day

Today is Primary Day across New York state.

Primaries for Mayor in both Utica and Rome highlight today's local races.

In Utica, incumbent Robert Palmieri will face a challenge from Linda Sullivan-Fatata in the Democratic Primary.  Former Mayor Louis LaPolla and Ernie Sanita will meet in the Republican primary.

Rome Mayor Joe Fusco is facing a challenge from Jackie Izzo in the Republican primary and Michael Brown, Louis Daniello and Ramona Smith meet in the Democratic primary.

Three candidates -- incumbent Chris Farber, Daniel Reardon and James Pumbolo -- will face-off in a GOP Primary for Herkimer County Sheriff.

Polls will be open from noon to 9:00.
