Toddler Killed in Tragic Pickup Truck Accident on Farm in Eaton

Authorities are calling it a "tragic accident."  A 16-month-old boy was killed after being hit by a pickup truck driven by a family member on a farm in Eaton yesterday.

According to a written release provided by the Madison County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a farm on Evans Road in the town of Eaton, New York at approximately 5:45pm on Monday, September 28, 2015.

Immediately after the incident family members called 911.  Officials say, "...lifesaving instructions were provided over the phone by 911 dispatchers until emergency medical services arrived."

The child was brought to Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.

The child was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

Madison County Sheriff's deputies were assisted at the scene by the Eaton Fire Department and Rescue, Eaton Ambulance, and Madison Ambulance services.
