Toddler Run Over by Pickup Truck in Poland Driveway

A fatal accident is under investigation in the Herkimer County Town of Poland.

According to a written release New York State Police say that "a pick-up truck was backing out of a driveway when a 1 year-old female crawled behind the vehicle and was struck.  The child was pronounced deceased at the scene."

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2015.

The driveway was adjacent to a home on State Route 28.

No identities have yet been released.
