It looks as if NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez is going to make a return to the league, but not with another team.

Yahoo!Sports.com is reporting that the future Hall of Famer has inked a deal with CBS to join "The NFL Today" show, CBS's Sunday morning pregame broadcast.

To make room on the set for Gonzalez, longtime fixtures Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe are leaving the show.

It is anticipated that both Marino and Sharpe will be courted by other networks such as Fox, ESPN, NBC or the NFL Network to add another former player to their rosters of talking heads.

Gonzales should fit right in behind the desk at CBS, as he has been known throughout his career to be well spoken and comfortable in front of the camera.
