SALEM, Ore. (AP) —Two top Oregon Democrats are urging Gov. John Kitzhaber to resign over a growing ethics scandal.

Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber says he has no intention of resigning.

Three people close to the situation had said that Kitzhaber was going to step down over allegations that his fiancée, Cylvia Hayes, used his office to land contracts for her consulting business.

She's accused of advocating policies that she was paid to promote.

Now the governor says, "I was elected to do a job for the people of this great state and I intend to continue to do so."
