Here are my top 10 plays in the sports world for 2014.  This is, of course, a subjective list. My rankings are determined upon a few things, including the sheer wow-factor, and urgency. A little drama makes amazing plays even better.

With so many great plays to choose from, I had trouble narrowing the list to 10. What did I leave out? Send me a message and I'll add an 'Honorable Mentions' page.

    You Can't Tackle Marshawn Lynch

Beast Mode Is Back, 79-yard TD Run

The back they call Beast Mode may be best known for his amazing 67-yard touchdown run in the playoffs to help Seattle upset New Orleans in 2011. He recently broke off another huge TD score, this one for 79-yards and included several broken tackles. Although it came in a late season matchup against a team the Seahawks were in a division battle with, Lynch's monster run came in the fourth quarter of a blowout.

    Tiger Woods Sinks 91-foot Putt

One of a few bright spots for Tiger in 2014

This highlight dates back to the Cadillac Open in March of 2014. This 91-foot birdie had Tiger chasing down the leader board, but from here it got bad. He finished the tournament by re-tweaking his back (something he battled all year) and finished the final round without recording a birdie, the first time he had gone birdie-less on a the final day of a tourney in all of his 19-years on the PGA Tour.

    Yoenis Cespedes' Sniper Arm

Far more accurate than a 'cannon'

The. Most. Amazing. Throw. I've. Seen. You may wonder why I ranked it 8th? He lost some style points overall on the 'play' because he booted it into the corner to begin with. But, WOW! he certainly made up for it.

    2 Eagles In 3-Holes

2014 was a big year for Rory MacIlroy. Among his victories this year were the Open Championship which included a round on Day 2 with two birdies in three holes. This approach on the 18th was amazing.

    Andrew Luck-y

Colts' Comeback Kid Has Your Back

They say that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Indianapolis Colts' quarterback Andrew Luck takes advantage of a fortunate bounce after his teammate fumbled, recovered the ball and scored. It came as Indy was in the midst of the second largest comeback in playoff history (28 points). Luck and company eventually own 45-44.

    Tyler Ennis...BOOOM!

    No.1 Cuse stays unbeaten

Going back to February 2014, freshman point guard Tyler Ennis drills a buzzer beater to lift Syracuse past Pitt. With the Orange trailing by one, it needed to be good to keep Cuse ranked No.1 in the nation and undfeated at 24-0.

    Are You Kidding?

    Buzzer Beater From WAY DOWNTOWN

This rolls in from college basketball's BigSky Conference. It features not one, but two thrilling buzzer beaters. The latter significantly more dramatic than the former. Gotta love the call, too.

    OH-dell Beckham Jr.

    3 Fingers = 6 Points

I keep hearing people downplaying this catch. Really? He made the grab with three fingers, snagging it from behind his head while tip-toeing the out of bounds line. Granted this Giants did go on to lose this game, but it has been THE most memorable play of 2014.
