Tow Truck Driver Injured In Hit And Run Accident

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is looking for the public's help in locating the driver involved in a hit and run accident.

According to Sheriff Maciol, Deputies responded to 6499 W South Street in Westmoreland Monday morning for a reported car-pedestrian motor vehicle accident.

Officials say a Tow Truck operator with Midland Collision, 32-year-old Thomas Oberster of Waterville, was struck after he was completing a call for service. He was treated on scene before being transported to St. Elizabeth's for further evaluation.

The vehicle is believed to be a black 2007-2011 body style Chevy Extended Cab Pickup with a partial NY State License plate given of EKY.

The pick-up was being driven by a white male in his 40s or 50s and was last seen driving West on West South Street towards Cooper Street.
