Town of Florence Man Arrested for 2017 Rape

A Town of Florence man has been arrested and is facing several sexual crime charges.

According to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, the arrest stemmed from a five month long investigation in connection with an August 2017 rape in the Village of Camden.

According to police, 18-year-old Jared Angelo Rogers was arrested at his home on January 4th after it was learned that Rogers allegedly had sexual intercourse and oral sexual contact with a female juvenile at her village home.

Rogers is facing one count of Felony Rape in the Second Degree and Felony Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree. Other charges are still possible and Rogers is awaiting arraignment at Oneida County Jail.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center. This investigation is ongoing.
