Nearly 30 local businesses will be joining the American Heart Association in turning red on Friday to raise awareness of heart disease - the number one killer of women.

TownSquare Media's WIBX950 and Lite 98.7 on River Road will be taking part in the 'Go Red' campaign along with Babe's, the Carbone Auto Group and others by turning on red lights to join in on the American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day.

Also turning red are AmeriCU Credit Union, The Brewery Shop, Utica City Hall, Cooper Kia, the Masonic Care Community and dozens of others.

All participating buildings including the Utica Tower will turn red at 4 p.m. on Friday February 6, and if you're driving on Route 49 you'll be able to see TownSquare studios proudly wearing our red as well.

Other events taking place on Friday include the Go Red Fashion Show at 1:00 p.m. at the Schuyler Commons and Varick Street goes red where you can attend a reception at the F.X. Matt Brewery from 5-7 p.m.
