Tractor Trailer Accident in Marcy Shuts Down Traffic

Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene of a tractor trailer accident in Marcy on Tuesday.

Upon arrival on scene it was determined the driver of the rig, 55-year-old Steven Simmons, attempted to turn right from the State Route 49 ramp to River Road.

Simmons cut the turn too short causing the trailer to leave the roadway and become stuck on the guard rail.

Deputies shut down a portion of River Road for a period of time while the trailer was removed.
