Tractor Trailer Strikes Car, Two Taken To Hospital

Sylvan Beach, NY (WIBX) - A tractor-trailer accident in Sylvan Beach sent two people to the hospital.
According to State Police in Sylvan Beach, Erol Kara, 43, of Tonawanda, was traveling northbound on Route 13 around 2:30 yesterday afternoon when he swerved his tractor-trailer to avoid a stopped vehicle.
Kara lost control of his truck, crossing into the southbound lane and striking a car occupied by Charles DeWolf, 68, and Karen DeWolf, 63, of Blossvale.
The DeWolfs were taken to Upstate Medical Center for treatment, while Kara was uninjured.
He was ticketed for failure to keep right and for inadequate tires. His truck was also impounded for further inspection.
State Police were assisted by the Sylvan Beach Volunteer Fire Department and by the Department of Environmental Conservation.
