A Tribes Hill man is in custody, charged with multiple counts related to the alleged sexual assault of a child.

61-Year old David A. Andrews was arrested by New York State Police in Fonda after an investigation by the NYSP's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of Andrews' online activities.  According to a written release it was revealed that Andrews had allegedly "...made arrangements with an adult male via the internet and provided the man with a child less than thirteen years of age in order for the man to engage in various sexual acts with the child.  This occurred on two separate occasions."

He is being charged with the following felonies: rape in the first degree, criminal sexual act in the first degree, course of sexual conduct against a child int he first degree, and predatory sexual assault.  He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say that Andrews also engaged in various sexual conduct with a child under the age of thirteen multiple times in the past few months.  The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.

To that end officials are asking that anyone who has information relating to the case call them.  They are also asking minors who have been approached by Andrews to come forward with that information.   Troopers in Fonda may be reached at: (518) 853.4708.

David Andrews was arraigned in the Town of Mohawk Court before Judge Kathleen Buck and sent to the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or a $100,000 bond.  He is scheduled to appear in court on April 15, 2014 at 5:00pm.
