The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of Central New York.

Despite a warm and mild day on Wednesday, even some of Thursday, winter isn't over yet. Starting on Friday morning at midnight we can expect some significant precipitation.

According to the NWS, the Winter Storm Watch is calling for wet and heavy snow. We can anticipate anywhere from 4-9 inches in Oneida and Herkimer Counties.

Depending on the temperature, there may be some rain at times. This Watch will begin on Friday at midnight for both Herkimer and Oneida Counties. For Oneida County, the watch will remain in effect until midnight on Saturday, it will expire Saturday at 3 a.m. in Herkimer County.

Use caution when driving on roadways and keep heavy wet snow off your roof and other vulnerable structures.
