What looked like a disabled vehicle on the side of the road caught the attention of passing drivers who called police to report the car on the Thruway this past Sunday.

When they arrived at approximately 12:37am in the northbound passing lane of I-87 in Ravena, New York, troopers say they found 35-year old Chatham resident Grayson R. Brown-Oliva sleeping in the driver's seat with his foot on the brake.

State Police say they were able to get the car off of the road.  In a written release they say, "...a plastic bag containing approximately 18.2 grams of MDMA in plain view within the car" was spotted.  MDMA, or 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine, is known commonly as "ecstasy" or "Molly."

Troopers say that Brown-Oliva failed field sobriety tests at the scene and later provided a breath sample at the Albany barracks that showed a blood alcohol content of 0.18% BAC.  He was then charged with DWI and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony.
